8Real Good Chicken breasts, filleted
1 tspground pepper
2 gmsaffron
1sour lime, juice
½ tspcoriander powder
½ tsp nutmeg powder
½ tspmace powder
2 tbspcornflour
3 tbspbutter
1 tspgreen pickled peppercorns (optional)
Here is a delicious recipe for Lila Mari Ni Kesari Murghi.
  • Step 01

    Wash the breasts and cut each into three strips. Salt and marinate in the lime juice and black pepper and set aside.
  • Step 02

    Half an hour before serving the meal, boil the cut chicken in 2 cups of water. When the chicken is tender, drain the soup and set it aside to make the gravy.
  • Step 03

    Heat the saffron over a skillet and when crisp, powder it over a half cup of warm water. Place 3 tbsp.of butter in a heavy based frying pan over medium heat and add the dried spices and the chicken and allow to simmer over a very low fire.
  • Step 04

    Take another saucepan and add two tablespoons of butter. Add the cornflour and mix vigorously. Then add saffron water and 2 cups of chicken soup. Keep stirring the sauce non stop till you achieve a smooth glossy sauce. If using the green peppercorns add them now carefully.
  • Step 05

    Take a long, flat dish & place the warm chicken pieces on it. Pour the saffron sauce carefully over them. Serve at once.
