Ingredients

Yummiez Chicken legs, skin removed and cut into serving pieces
4onions, sliced
4potatoes, skinned and quartered
3 largetomatoes, chopped finely
2 cupsbasmati rice, washed and dried
1 cupyoghurt
1 cupghee
1 tbspgaram masala
1 tbspraisins
1 tbspalmonds
2 tspchilly powder
2 tspginger-garlic paste
1 tspcoriander and cumin seed powder
1 tspturmeric powder
Few strandsSaffron
As requiredoil
As requiredsalt
Here is a mouth-watering recipe for Murgh Ki Tikhi Biryani.
  • Step 01

    Heat 5 tbsp.oil and fry 2 onions till crisp. Drain and reserve. Fry potatoes in hot oil till golden. Drain and reserve. Heat half cup ghee in a large pan.
  • Step 02

    Add rice and stir fry. Add 4 cups of hot water and salt and cook till done, but keeping each grain separate.
  • Step 03

    Heat the remaining ghee in a pressure cooker and fry the remaining two onions till golden. Add garam masala, turmeric, chilly powder, ginger-garlic paste, coriander and cumin seed powder, yoghurt, salt and chopped tomatoes, raisins and almonds.
  • Step 04

    Add chicken and potatoes and pressure cook for five to seven minutes or till done. Remove.
  • Step 05

    Arrange layers of chicken and rice in a big pan. Cover with saffron and seal the container. If possible bake for 15 minutes.
  • Step 06

    If not, heat a griddle and place this pan on top of it till the mixture is aromatic and done. Unseal. Cover with fried onions and serve with any raita or salad.
