2Real Good Chicken
3 tbsprefined oil
6 mediumonions
6 clovesgarlic
8green chillies
1½ tspcumin seed (jeera)
½ cuppigeon peas (tur dal), soaked
300 gmspinach leaves
1 tspdried fenugreek leaves (kasoori methi)
½ tspturmeric powder
As requiredsalt
3 cupswater
Here is a mouth-watering recipe for Murgh Shabnam.
  • Step 01

    Wash, soak and then boil the dal till it is cooked.
  • Step 02

    Drain and grind to make a smooth paste. Clean and cut the chicken into 8 pieces. Finely chop the onions, green chillies and garlic. Wash and shred the spinach leaves.
  • Step 03

    Heat oil and add jeera. When it starts crackling, add garlic, chopped onions and green chillies.
  • Step 04

    Sauté till the onions are lightly browned. Add chicken pieces, shredded spinach, salt and turmeric powder.
  • Step 05

    Add 3 cups of water and cook till chicken is done. Stir in the cooked dal paste. Check seasoning. Finish cooking with kasoori methi.
  • Step 6

    Serve hot with chapatis / parathas.
